2024 Camp Committee Call to Action
We are seeking volunteers to comprise a diverse group of tech professionals who are passionate about supporting the coordinating of our 2024 Summer Tech Camps (Portland, SF Bay Area, NYC, Austin, National). Committee members will actively commit time, talent, and resources to provide a free 2-week camp in your city.
Join one of our camp committees:
Maven Youth is excited to announce our call for volunteers to join our 2024 Summer Tech Camp Committees. We are seeking 5- 8 members for each city camp MY will be hosting during the 2024 summer season. Volunteers will help organize and coordinate our summer camps with MY staff and youth leaders. Your volunteer hours will impact LGBT+ Youth within your city by provide a free 2 weeks tech career exploration in a safe and inclusive environment within the tech sector.

Summary of Camp Committee Roles:
* Support Logistical planning of camp
* Secure tech company hosting sites
* Adult Volunteer Recruitment
* Support Marketing / Outreach in local queer/youth spaces
* Support / Manage Camp Fundraising / Sponsorships
* Event planning for showcase (last day of camp graduation and project showcase)

Volunteer Committee Commitment:
* January - August 2024
* Monthly committee Zoom Calls
* Average 2-5 hours a month (close to camp 5-8hrs a month)

2024 Summer Tech Camp Dates: (*committee members are not required to attend full camp)
* Bay Area, CA - June 17-28
* Austin, TX - July 8 - 19
* Portland, OR - July 29- Aug 9
* Virtual National - July 29- Aug 9
* New York City, NY - Aug 19 - 30

Key Dates:
* Info Sessions about committee structure, commitments, questions (virtual): Dec. 14 @12:30pm CT and Dec. 18 4:30pm CT
* Deadline to apply: Jan. 3rd
* Notification of selection (email): Jan. 12th
* Orientation for committee(s) (virtual) Jan 29th 4:30pm - 6pm CT
* Launching of committee monthly meetings (virtual): Feb. 1st (committee will set monthly meeting dates and times)
